Gorge de l'Arly

A stretch about 13 km long. The first run was great, we intended to go fairly carefully at first, it was, after all, Martin's first run of the hols and Shona was pillion on my bike. Well, entering the valley stuck behind a car was a bad start. Once that was passed (in about 15 seconds) we just couldn't slow down. Faster and faster and I was already having trouble keeping up with Martin. By the time we got to the other end, we were slightly breathless and on a high. A quick stop to turn round and plan the next leg. Back up the valley, even faster and closer to the limit. This was probably the closest to the limit I'd ever ridden. The surface perfect, each corner just tight enough but always visible from the bend before making it easy to set up for the next. Fantastic.
