Re: Retirement plans

I knew Michael and Karza would be the men to help  Now when you want to whizz around the UK drop me a line, you might want to try the UK before doing too much of the rest of Europe or it may be a major disappointment with less interesting scenery, more boring roads and a lot more traffic (w...

Re: Any plans?

Early July jaunt through France, Vallon Pont d arc, gorge du verdon and then across to the mid section of rdga around barcelonette for a few nights, up to bourg s-m across to rencurel and zig zag back home.

More France than Alps, subject to slight changes but taking shape nicely.

Re: Grand Alps - Early June

Don't panic, usual service has been resumed, due to work commitments, family commitments etc it looks like we will be going in the 1st two weeks of July again. Also looking to do less Alps, now shaping up to spend a few days coming down through through vallon Pont d'Arc and then having a quick look ...

Re: Hotel Le Marronnier Vercors, France

It is one of those places where I am happy to go a bit out of my way to stay there, 2018 "plans" are all over the place, should know more in a week or two, if going to the Alps is will be the mid section of RDGA plus a nice route there and back, might try to work a visit here into those pl...

Re: Grand Alps - Early June

Am I likely to struggle to find a place to stay, or just have a bit less choice :?:

The latter is OK, sleeping in a Bus Stop is not my thing

Re: Grand Alps - Early June

Thanks Michael, If doing this trip we are less likely to plan on stopping anywhere in particular to have a lot more flexibility but with a couple of days "in Hand", so if we get lucky we could hang around somewhere for a couple of nights and loop around the passes, but if not keep moving o...

Grand Alps - Early June

I know nothing is ever guaranteed in the Alps, but when do the passes of RDGA typically open :?: Not yet sorted next years trip, it is likely to be either the 1st two weeks in July, where I know the passes will have all opened, and are unlikely to get closed again, or maybe early June - I know this ...

Re: Sat nav's

Much of a Muchness I think. I have used Garmins and continue to do so as I am more familiar with them, but a mate has always used Tom Tom, we both have things we hate on our own, and love on the other persons. They will both want to use different roads to what you want to use, and do crazy shortcuts...

Re: Speed tickets from Luxembourg

Fixed roadside cameras, but I had not seen these type before so ride by blissfully unaware on the 1st one, my mate pointed them out later that day, the second one I either did not spot or had not slowed enough - 2 mph FFS! I am fairly certain they are only on the big main roads through Lux - otherwi...
