They live in the city of Goiânia, in central Brazil. It is a very hot place where it can be over 30°C even in winter. Watching the snow was a wonderful experience, especially on motorbikes :D

"Watching the snow was a wonderful experience, especially on motorbikes :D"

It wasn't wonderful for me on the Fluela three weeks ago when I was forced to turn back and slipped over in the process #-o

I am pleased your countrymen enjoyed it though - seeing the things you can't see every day at home is what traveling is all about :D
Well, that and hooning around another country's superior roads anyway

I got an early start in 2004 (late May). and damn near froze - the previous two years were very hot, and I guess that I expected more of the same.

Hit the Stelvio where it began to snow, so headed down the Umbrail to the Fluela. Snowing on the Fluela. Ducked in to the restaurant at the top for something warm to drink (and maybe a piece of strudel). When I came back out, there was about 3-4 cm of snow on the bike. Headed down into Davos where the snow turned to cold rain and got a room in a Gasthaus a few kms south. Got up early the next morning to hit the Albula before it closed for the day at about 09:00 and head into the Italian side of the Alps where it was much warmer.

Another video. With snow on Stelvio

around the 50s, when they stopped to talk, the companion was thinking of giving up and coming back. His fingers were freezing.

There were a LOT more people up there in July.

The bike that I rented in 2004 had heated grips. Saved my life. When I got home I immediately put a set on my VStrom - and my Triumph came with them. Don't leave home without them.
