Grand Hotel Barcelonnette has got the new owners in last July. Now the customer service is excellent, they answer to emails very quickly, you can operate in English, the new owners (a couple) are locals. We have the booking at GH Barcelonnette a day before coming to AR-meet 2016 in Rencurel, so looking forward to visit Grand Hotel Barcelonnette again. :D :D :D

We stayed in the Azteca last year, as recommended by Michael, overall we were very happy with the place, nice big room, friendly staff, parking for bike and 1 minute walk from town square.

The town was also a great base for a couple of days exploring the surrounding passes, lots of restaurants and a few bars to choose from, on my must go back to list - although that is now a very long list.
