Hi Tim,
When I joined "Alpine Roads", under "Road Conditions" section of the website, you could view four webcams --- 2 at Stelvio + I at Andermatt + I at Grossglockner.
Currently, only the 2 at Stelvio are viewable. Andermatt went blank a few weeks ago and Grossglockner showing same picture of cloud since October 2013 !
I understand that failed cams are beyond your control but any chance you could substitute alternatives in nearby locations ? It is nice to be able to eyeball the views and weather.

That sucks! Jumbo took it down for some reason.

At least the one in Innertkirchen is still working - looking very Christmassy, too.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't checked them for a while... I'll see if I can get something sorted over the hols.

I've done a quick hack of the Andermatt and Grosglockner webcams.
Of course they're all interactive and full of logos etc, but I managed to get a compromise.
The Images should always be the latest full panorama shot. Seems to be updating ok, but as there's no time/date on the images or links, you can't be sure unless you click the link to go to the panorama website.

I'll try and find another Andermatt/Oberalb/central Switzerland one as well asap.

I'll gladly take suggestions for places I could add, maybe somewhere in France? Or the Dolomites?

Hi Tim,
The webcam links for Andermatt and Vald'isere have "died" in last six months. Any chance you could add a couple of new working cams? Andermatt is a good point to cover but I don't have any strong thoughts re a French venue.
I always find the cams useful to get a feel for conditions as biking season emerges in spring.
Cheers,
Chris

Mmm, ok. I'll have a look. I didn't notice Val d'Isere had gone. I checked it a couple of months ago.
I'll try and find something in those areas, as, like you, I think they're pretty central and give a good idea of the weather.

Hello again Tim,
Just checked the two links again:
Andermatt : Link definitely dead. Clicking just gives "location not found message"
Vald'isere : Error on my part! The picture against the link on road conditions page is still showing the same snow free green fields shot at all times of day BUT, now, clicking on it brings up current cam shots at Val d'isere.
So, looks like just a new link required for Andermatt. How about this?

Chris

Ah right. The Val d'Isere provider uses the same system as the Grossglockner , there is an option to use the latest image... must have changed that somehow. I'll investigate.

Andermatt looks good, I'll sort that too.

Hi Tim,
Sorry to be wingeing again re webcams but I note that for last few days, when opening the pass status / webcams page, a "fatal error" message appears and no access to cams. Also, for several months, several of the cam links have been faulty.
May be its just me but I really liked that page for an instant, real time, all in one place access to conditions across the alps.
Hope it can be fixed.

Chris

Sorry hadn't read post re software update which explains "fatal error" message. However, when the page was accessible, there were issues with not all of the webcam links working.

No worries. I'm really busy at the mo. Will sort it out as soon as I can. But it will probably be another week or so, to be realistic. Then I'll try and sort out an update to the tapatalk plugin as well.
If you notice anything that doesn't actually work properly, rather than just throwing up error messages, please let me know though.

I still get the fatal error stuff after I have posted but it does get posted.

My friend Konrad has tried to join, but so far has been unable to. He would like to be on here as he is attending the reunion this year with me.
