http://www.lavieilleposte.com/ This is very nice biker friendly hotel in Lanslebourg where the Col du Mont Cenis ends. :D Col du Mont Cenis is a great ride, specially from south to north. 8)

Thanks fella's.

Planned it out and it looks like an option, already booked a Hotel in Tignes and plan on coming up from Barcelonnette (or thereabouts)

Assuming dead easy, smooth, shallow gravel and the Mrs wants to take the KTM 1090 I might be able to work this in, but it is showing as adding about 25 miles and 2 hours to the days ride - although we always beat the times on the computer so it is definitely a maybe.

There's a another option from Susa to Briancon - go to Bardonecchia and turn left to go over Col de l'Echelle - SP216 becoming D1 joining D944G to Val des Pres. It's paved but a little bit bumpy but much more interesting than the Montgenevre road.

Thanks Chris,

Looks like another good option, it only adds 10 miles / 20 minutes so will probably decide on the day, both routes looks good and both will be new to us, just the choice of fast and smooth versus bumpy and scenic.

Not that it matters much as we will be coming back to this area again as it is full of old favourites and other options like this we have yet t sample.

If you don't mind a little gravel , you could also ride around the lake of Mont du Cenis .

That's good to know, I certainly enjoyed the run around the Lake near Livigno with Michael and Chris last year so might do a lap here, the Mrs can either join me or watch from a safe piece of tarmac.
